Evrima

Named for a word of Greek origin meaning “discovery,” Evrima sails to the world’s yachting playgrounds, where you’ll discover hidden coves and iconic cities while enjoying the relaxed pace of the yachting lifestyle. Culinary experiences on board range from casual poolside eateries to elegant fine dining, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers a wide array of revitalizing treatments. When you’re ready to explore, the sea or the shore is just steps away from Evrima’s aft Marina. After the day’s adventures, retire to your spacious suite and watch the sun drop beneath the horizon from your private terrace.

Ship Reviews

The boat is great. The rooms were very nice. The service was impeccable. The food and drinks were great. The entertainment was a bit lame - Disco Night??? Maybe more educational presentations. We went to one on wind and olive oil which was very interesting. Some of the port stops were not great. We did not like the Crete port stop too much. Probably not the Ritz's fault, but when wake up in the morning and open your shades in Crete, you are staring and a very unattractive industrial area. We were quite disappointed in some of the excursions. I am not sure Ritz personnel have ever taken some of the excursions that are offered. I think if they did, they would adjust the excursions. We also felt the descriptions of the excursions were so brief, you could not really get a sense of what the excursion really was. I guess my advice is to either wing it when you get to a port and hire a guide right on the spot or pre-book through Viator, TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide or ToursByLocals.

This was our second Ritz Carlton Yacht experience and it certainly won’t be our last. It is true luxury at sea. The ship itself, the onboard amenities, the staterooms and the staff are all exceptional. They are listening to customer feedback. We saw many improvements between our first and second voyage. For example, they change the menus in all restaurants every three days to ensure variety. The food is top notch - caviar, fresh seafood, even custom requests - I don’t think there is a line that offers better quality dining. The entertainment has also significantly improved from nightly musicians to watercolor painting and mixology classes. If you like cruising, perhaps this line may not appeal. If you like luxury resorts, like the Ritz and Four Seasons, this is like a hotel on the sea. It has a refined sophistication and you go to relax and enjoy 5 star service. I appreciate the small capacity, the intimate feel and the personalized care that was extended to us during our voyage. Kudos to hotel manager Fabio for his leadership, to Julie, the entertainment director, Bianca, the guest relations manager, and all of the kind service from the restaurants from Hana, Dadan, Harry, Vishal and so many more. They all go out of their way to make sure you have a special experience.

This was our first luxury cruise, and it did not disappoint. Evrima is a small yacht, 298 passengers, and it was less than half full. This meant that the staff to guest ratio was likely more than 2 to 1. We selected their “signature” cabin, which is one up from basic. Reason for this was to get maximum comfort, cabin had a couch, and a lounger on the balcony. The ship is gorgeous, launched in ‘22, immaculately clean and modern. All the public, as well as private areas were top notch in comfort and cleanliness. Service was over the top, we had a personal concierge, visiting us daily, or whenever we picked up the phone to ask for ice, or food. Staff gets to know your name on day 2, my husband adored all the attention, I felt a bit over the top fussed over. But they knew just how he liked his green tea, and had it ready. Food was exquisite in all restaurants. We tried SPA, I had a facial which was luxurious but indecently expensive, at $300. On shore excursions are mixed. They hire local vendors and charge double. That said, we docked in Cartagena, Colombia, I asked for a private tour with focus on history of the city. Ritz actually provided a history teacher who had encyclopedic knowledge of the area, took us to his birthplace, and catered to our every wish. That tour was very interesting. On the other hand, in Curacao, the boat tour was disappointing, it was physically uncomfortable, diving into the cave was dangerous, resulted in a scrape on my head, and the destination was not anywhere as exciting as described. Bottom line, I would definitely do this again. Their new ship, Ilma, has basic “terrace” cabins which do have the couch/ living room arrangement. I would just do more research on the shore excursions to see if they match my needs. Local vendors can do the job. One last thought, the Ritz bathrobes are so luxurious that we are looking to buy them for home. To add, this is not a trip for children or teens. They did have some arts activities, but kids would be bored. This was fine with us. On board entertainment consisted of mediocre piano/ guitar/vocalists.
