Regatta

Better than new, Regatta is the flagship of the Oceania Cruises fleet and features a beautifully re-inspired ambiance. Each luxurious suite and stateroom is entirely new from floor to ceiling, including the bathrooms. Her decks are resplendent in the finest teak, custom stone and tile work, and her lounges, suites and staterooms showcase designer residential furnishings. Regatta offers four unique, open-seating restaurants, the Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, eight lounges and bars, a casino and 333 tony suites and sleekly redefined staterooms, nearly 70% of which feature private verandas. With more than 400 crew to serve a maximum of 656 guests, it’s no wonder these small and luxurious ships are more than acclaimed – they are legendary.

In a dramatic re-inspiration process, Regatta has become a completely redesigned ship without peer. Every surface of every suite and stateroom is entirely new, while in the public spaces, a refreshed colour palette of soft sea and sky tones surrounds tasteful renewal of fabrics, furnishings and lighting fixtures that exquisitely encompasses the inimitable style and comfort of Oceania Cruises. From the bejewelled new chandeliers in the gracious Grand Dining Room to the beckoning Reception Hall, Regatta celebrates a rejuvenation so sweeping, you will find it positively unimaginable to resist her welcoming embrace.

Ship Reviews

First time on a smaller cruise ship. Upon arrival at the pier we were meet with stairs. Once passed check in, more stairs to walk up onto ship. No handicap access and no assistance. The room was unacceptably smaller than expected. It was clean. Very small walk way at end of bed to wall. Be careful if that you don’t run into the TV. We got injured walking the tight space. The bathroom had a very high step to get in and out and was difficult to navigate especially at night. Needed a handle. The shower was so small that it made it impossible to move around to wash yourself. The shelf was poorly designed that it didn’t hold much and everything kept falling off. The cabinet opposite the bathroom door you couldn’t open totally. Should have had a 180 degree hinge. The corner shelves were deep and tall. Needed a step up ladder or stool. The food was not 5 stars. Same food every day at buffet. The specialty’s restaurant the Tussconna was horrible. Many guest complained about that restaurant. Not much as far as entertainment. A few shows and kudos to the entertainment staff. Not what you find on the bigger ships. The music was not that good. The night entertainment was over by 11pm. Only singers no bands that played in horizons. There was a ballroom dance group and the music was mostly catered to them. They took over the entire dance floor. We were gifted $200 gift voucher, but after buying a gift I the shop, was told that it’s already discounted. Due to late night flight, they took us to a hotel to wait . Put us in a room, with nothing but chairs and tables. No music, TV or comfortable couches. Nothing to do for 10hour. Feed us lunch and 20 minutes before going to airport feed us again the same pizza, Sandwiches, etc. nothing and I mean nothing to do but walk around. Overall the French Polynesia was Fantastic! The culture, people and excursions were top notch. The wait staff were great and always accommodating. This cruise was our 50th anniversary. They went out of their way to acknowledge us a few times. Not sure Oceania Cruise lines will be our next style cruise line for us.

The experiences off the ship .... sights, excursions, adventures, etc. ... were absolutely wonderful and first class. The ship, however, us badly in need of a refurbishment. Lots of rust on the exterior and the swimming pool was practically falling apart (hundreds of tiles coming off around the pool deck and many in the pool itself). Service was very good, but not nearly as great as my first two cruises on Oceania. If you wanted alcohol ($$$), servers were on you instantly, but if you wanted coke, tea, etc. you often times waited several minutes or had to make multiple reminder requests. The alcohol package was overpriced and if you bought by the drink, you'd be charged $14-16/glass ... which, for some labels I recognized, could pay for the entire bottle back home. Our friends toilet stopped up because of a neighboring cabin that attempted to flush sanitary wipes. Our bathroom shower drain made strange gurgling noises 30-45 minutes *after* use and occasionally emitted sewer smells. Our Oceania agent was not very helpful in giving us advance information about the very few flights in and out of Tahiti each day. We didn't ask the right questions or do enough of our own research ahead of time and we trusted him to handle the entire booking and coordinate all the travel. So we arrived at 11 pm on day 1 -- essentially missing the entire first day of the cruise. So while we were among the very last to arrive on the ship, we were the first to be asked to disembark (8 am on the last day), effectively making our 20 day cruise, really just an 8 day cruise. Oh, and we had the added dignity of leaving separate from our travel companions. While my wife and left on a flight home on the evening of 15 September, my sister and her husband could not be accommodated by Oceania on a flight home until the evening of the 16th. AND ... Oceania refused to come date them for the meals and hotel room for the one and a half days they were stuck on Tahiti on their own nickel. Incredibly bad customer service, in my opinion. All in All, a great trip to several islands in the South Pacific paradise .... but I wish I had been on a different/better ship. This is probably my last cruise on Oceania. There are 2-3 better options available for luxury cruising.

The trip was changeling for me using a walker. I was unhappy with the boarding in Papeete where there was no lift, and I had to walk up 30 stairs. The room was a challenge since there were no handicap rooms available. I was disappointed that the jacuzzi(s) by the pool had no grab bars. The staff was excellent. Couldn't do enough for us. I think the food my have been over rated, although adequate. Certainly didn't go hungry. I found the Captain to not be as friendly to the passengers as other cruises I have been on. He was not as social as I thought he should be. All and all I would not hesitate to take Oceania again. I would make it a point to get a larger cabin, make sure that you didn't have to tender to every port, and make sure the facilities were handicap friendly.

This was our first experience with Oceania cruises and we were so impressed. The service was awesome, the food was amazing, especially at the buffet…they do a remarkable job! This was the first ever cruise where we chose to eat more in the buffet than the main dining room. The buffet had everything from the main ballroom and more. Our room stewards Edmund and Maria were fantastic. They were completely on top of the maintenance of the room. Room service was delivered quickly and was delicious. Our favorite spot on the ship was Baristas. Each day we would go there to relax and have some coffee and a crema. The bed….omg that was the best sleep of my life! The chairs and loungers everywhere were so comfortable. Everything was really wonderful. If anything, sometimes if you were sitting at the tables around Martinis (around dinner) it may take you a bit to get your drinks. But even that was really minimal. We will definitely be going back. We usually cruise with Norwegian, which we also really like. However Oceania truly is a luxury cruise line. The only real complaint I have is that the entertainment was just so-so.
